Oh This is such a lovely story, my glasses are misting up! Good on you, Jackie, for putting it all together. It sounds amazing, I only wish I lived closer to Harrogate. And now I will see every piece of new writing as chopping onions - with all the tears that brings too!

Thanks for your lovely comment and enthusiasm, Lesley! Shame you don't live closer. But you know, if you ever find yourself up in sunny North Yorkshire on the last Thursday of the month - you never know! - you'd be hugely welcome and I'd insist you read from your novel :)

Awww! Thanks so much for your enthusiasm, David. Didn't you move somewhere oop north? Or did I dream that? Anyway, if you happen to be anywhere near Harrogate, it would be FABULOUS to have you along. Hope your writing is going well?

I came from Cheshire originally and my daughter has just started at York Uni but I'm still living down south. Writing going well thanks. Have recently been busy with a children's middle-grade trilogy (book one out last year, book two out in Oct) and with pantomime scripts (a couple published now).

Fiona and I have been involved (acting) in our local am-dram group for many years and had been thinking about writing something. Last year the group were struggling to agree on a script they all liked, so we offered to write one for them. Fortunately they liked it! We've just finished a really successful run (10 shows), including a standing ovation on the last night (which never happens at our place). We were really chuffed with the reception. And we showed the script to a professional company (Lazy Bee Scripts), they said they'd be happy to publish. Woohoo!

Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Sue! You know, I've meant to join you so many times but never noted the time or date so it constantly passes me by... sorry! I've been rubbish over there lately but determined to do better. Starting with: Tuesday 27th, 5pm GMT, is now in the diary :)
